Security Compliance Manager
Multi-modal graph theory-based modeling tool for the representation of complex health information systems. The application allows the modeling and detection of IS security-relevant dependencies and relationships between various informational, application, and system components in a heterogeneous and decentralized system environment. Customizable XML policies (e.g., ISO17799, NIST, FISMA, HIPAA) can be applied and assessed for any node in the system.
Concept: Three-layer graph-based model (3LGM2), graph theory, IS security frameworks.
Technology: Java Swing, Java Universal Network/Graph Framework (JUNG).
Working Paper: Abstract

openED
Prototype of an emergency department patient tracking and documentation application, providing an open architecture to integrate alternative means of capturing semi-structure patient visit information. The application is conceived to store binary documents that may contain stroke files captured by a digital pen hardware device. The devices can be used to chart on a pre-structured complaint-driven template form.
Concept: Paper templates, hybrid documentation with digital pen.
Technology: Java J2EE, Hibernate, Struts, Tomcat, MySQL, Logitech Digital Pen.
Working Paper: Abstract
